DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital seeks a CVT for our ICU to provide highest quality veterinary emergency and critical care to patients through compliance with the attending veterinarian’s orders for each animal. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience working in an emergency or critical care setting.

Duties include:

• Triage animals upon arrival and/or assist in transporting animal from client’s vehicle in parking lot.

• Maintain patient’s comfort through, but not limited to, clean, comfortable environment. Monitor recovering patients, restrain and lift surgical patients. Treat animals kindly, anticipating his/her stress and discomfort due to the hospitalized setting. Clean pets before release.

• Perform required support procedures and activities in areas of cardiology, surgery, diagnostic imaging and critical care and emergency. Anticipates veterinarians’ needs by setting up equipment and/or supplies required for scheduled or possible procedures due to current condition or impending deterioration of animal’s condition.

• Enter patient charges into hospital computer system and assists the veterinarians in listing charges for procedures performed.
• Enter drug usage into drug log; perform & record lab work.

• Trouble-shoot equipment including ECG, BP monitors, cautery units, syringe pumps, IVACs, etc. If unable to fix equipment report equipment to supervisor with written repair request.
